Disney influencer dies after allergic reaction at BoxLunch event

Dominique Brown, a Disney influencer and co-creator of Black Girl Disney merchandise, died earlier this week at age 34 after suffering a medical emergency at a food event in Los Angeles.

Brown, who described herself as a “theme park enthusiast and collector,” was attending a holiday food event hosted by BoxLunch when she reportedly had a severe allergic reaction to something she ate. According to a People reporter who was at the event, Brown was later seen performing CPR.

One person who said Brown was her mother’s best friend wrote on social media that the influencer had asked to be taken to a hospital after feeling sick from unknowingly eating peanuts. Several social media users noted that Brown had informed the hosts about her allergies, although those claims were not confirmed.

BoxLunch, a “curated gift and novelty store” that provides meals to people in need, confirmed that Brown died after a “medical emergency” at their event.

“Our thoughts are with her family and friends and we will do everything we can to support her and the members of the BoxLunch Collective and our team during this painful time,” the company said in a statement on Saturday.

Kicks at the Castle, a Disney-focused podcast, paid tribute to Brown, calling her a “true light in the Disney community.”

Her brother Patrick Ramos shared a message with fans on Instagram thanking “her social media family for showing her so much love and light.”

“I will miss my sister and best friend and her infectious smile,” he wrote.
