“She was my mother’s best friend for ten years. She asked if there were peanuts in the food and everyone said no. When she immediately felt unwell, she asked someone to take her to the hospital,” wrote X user @hideyagrannies.

In response, one X user wrote, “Dominique Brown, co-creator of Black Girl Disney. It’s so tragic and if it was due to a food allergy it would be 100% preventable how??? This is disgusting.”

“Food allergies are not taken seriously. For this reason. “Most people think that people with food allergies are just faking it until it happens to them or a family member,” wrote another.

“Don’t forget she told them about the food allergy before the event and still came into contact with it,” chimed in a third user.

After her death, Brown’s brother Patrick Ramos thanked her supporters in a comments section on her final Instagram post.

“Hello everyone, this is @pramos313 – Dominique’s brother,” he wrote. “I wanted to take a moment to thank her social media following for showing her so much love and light. While Disney brought her joy, finding a community that loved her and Disney as much as she did was unprecedented. I will miss my sister and best friend and the infectious smile she always had. I really thank you from the bottom of my heart. ❤️🥺.”

According to her Instagram account (her stage name is HellooDomo), Brown lived in Long Beach, California and was a Disney fanatic who enjoyed theme parks and memorabilia.

She shared a picture of herself at a screening of “Moana 2” on November 27th.

Brown co-founded BlackGirlDisney with Mia Von when she realized there was a lack of representation in the Disney influencer market. Their goal was to create a welcoming environment for women of color who enjoyed the company’s theme parks and films.
