X user HappyHaunt13 first pointed out “Redbubble’s AI pressure.” In the store, the print sits on a shelf in a gold frame with red matt. The artwork can be easily traced to Redbubble, where it is being sold as “The Ghostly Bride” by user yourfavdraw.

The artwork actually appears to have been created by artificial intelligence. The most obvious detail that suggests it wasn’t created by a human is the strange staircase – or stairs? The staircase appears to be split in two, with oddly placed railings. The candelabra on the walls and the tiles on the ceiling are not uniform. At first glance, a strange figure on the stairs to the left could be a cat, but upon closer inspection it is impossible to identify.

Earlier this year, rumors suggested that Disney was planning changes to the Haunted Mansion’s attic scene featuring Constance Hatchaway, who is just the latest in a series of ghostly bride characters to haunt the attraction. Fans have speculated that a more prominently displayed bridal portrait in the store was the new bride’s design, but the use of Redbubble AI art casts doubt on that rumor and the integrity of the store in general.

HappyHaunts13 responded to a post from user ogorangebird who pointed out that another prop in the store, a marble bust, was apparently available on Amazon. This veiled lady design is widely used and copied – a famous veiled lady made of real marble was sculpted by Raffaelo Monti around 1860 – so Disney could have purchased it from Amazon or another source.

The new gift shop has received a lot of attention from the Disney fan base in recent weeks, with a number of criticisms raised, from the style to the placement in the park to the art within.
