Here’s an NFL on Peacock story via Associated Press:

STAMFORD, Conn. (AP) — NBC Sports and Peacock will present an alternate broadcast with elements of the EA Sports Madden 25 video game during a game between the Houston Texans and Kansas City Chiefs on Dec. 21.

The Madden NFL lineup announcement came during halftime of Thursday night’s game between the Miami Dolphins and Green Bay Packers.

It is the first time NBC will alternatively broadcast an NFL game. CBS has shown at least one game on Nickelodeon in the last five seasons, while ESPN/ABC has the “ManningCast” as well as animated presentations of “The Simpsons” and “Toy Story.”

The Texans Chiefs game on Peacock combines video game elements – like Madden 25 graphics, route trees, player cards and player ratings – with live action. GenuisIQ will provide real-time data on the league’s Next Gen Stats.

Paul Burmeister will provide play-by-play, while Madden NFL expert Kurt Benkert and six-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Chad Ochocinco serve as commentators. Ochocinco will act as a “real-time adjuster of player ratings.” Henry Leverette, who won the Ultimate Madden Bowl championship ring in February, will also be part of the broadcast.

“Not only are the Texans and Chiefs ranked first in their respective divisions, but they also have star players at multiple positions whose avatars will help us analyze the game’s biggest plays through the lens of Madden NFL 25,” NBC Sports said NFL Executive Producer Fred Gaudelli. “John and the Madden family have long been proud that their video game has helped generations of fans and players learn and enjoy football, and we are excited to continue that tradition.”

The main telecast of the Texas Chiefs game will air on NBC on December 21st starting at 1:00 p.m. EST.
