Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Kentucky is planning an expansion

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Kentucky received a major grant to get children excited about reading. First Lady Britainy Beshear was in Frankfort on Monday to accept the $100,000 grant from the Kentucky Association of Health Plans. The money will be used to expand the program in Kentucky. The Imagination Library provides free books each month to children from birth to age five across the state. “Dolly Parton’s dream is to put a book in the hands of every child, and we are so grateful for that.” The Kentucky Association of Health plans to make this possible,” said JC Morgan, state director of the Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Kentucky. Since its founding in 1995, Imagination Library has grown to include shipping more than three million age-appropriate books directly to children’s homes each month.
