Dolphins’ Grant DuBose has his jersey cut off and leaves the game on a stretcher after suffering a scary hit against the Texans

A scary scene occurred in Sunday’s Miami Dolphins-Houston Texans game when wide receiver Grant DuBose had to be carried off the field after a serious hit, his jersey and pads cut off and his face mask and helmet removed.

The Dolphins receiver, who has been used sparingly this season, ran a slant route and quarterback Tua Tagovailoa threw him a quick pass for the first down.

However, Texans safety Calen Bullock fell to the ground trying to break up the pass, and he got the job done, albeit at the cost of injuring the receiver. DuBose lay on the ground while Bullock obviously realized something was wrong.

The game had to be stopped for 12 minutes as medical staff assessed the situation and decided to cut off DuBose’s jersey and pads before placing him on a stretcher to leave the field. Every Dolphins player and staff member who didn’t care about DuBose sat in a circle on one knee and prayed for their teammate.

Head coaches Mike McDaniel of the Dolphins and DeMeco Ryans of the Texans were also thrilled to see the scene unfold.

DuBose left the game with what was described as a head injury.

This season, DuBose had one catch for 13 yards, a first down, on September 12 against the Buffalo Bills.

In the end, the Dolphins lost that contest to the Texans 20-12, in a game they needed to emerge victorious for playoff implications.
