After a loss to the Houston Texans in Week 15 that dropped the Miami Dolphins’ record to 6-8, star wide receiver Tyreek Hill delivered a message on social media that caused a stir.

On Wednesday, Hill tweeted, “It’s time for me to coach,” without offering any further explanation.

The lack of punctuation in Hill’s tweet led some fans to question whether he was stating his intention to try out for coaching or whether he was sending a message to Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel:

Hill didn’t respond to any questions, but posted another tweet that suggested his stress levels had reached a new high:

While Hill leads Miami with 805 receiving yards and adds 67 catches and five touchdowns, he is well below the torrid pace he set in 2023, when he led the NFL with a Dolphins franchise record 1,799 receiving yards. The 30-year-old has only reached the 100-yard mark twice in 14 games this season.

If McDaniel loses his job, it’s unlikely Hill will take his place on the sideline. So it remains to be seen whether there will be any clarification as to what the eight-time Pro Bowler meant with his tweets.

The Dolphins will look to bounce back when they host the San Francisco 49ers (6-8) on Sunday.
