Dominique Brown dead after reports of allergic reaction: Disney enthusiast was 34 years old

Dominique Brown, an influencer known as a Disney theme park enthusiast and collector, died after reportedly suffering an allergic reaction at a holiday food event hosted by BoxLunch on Thursday, December 5. She was 34 years old.

Reporting on Yahoo! According to reports, Brown allegedly consumed something at the event at Vibiana in Los Angeles after event staff informed her that it did not contain an ingredient to which she was allergic. News and Daily Mail.

A person who claimed to know her on X (formerly Twitter) wrote that Brown “immediately felt bad” and asked to be taken to a hospital.

“She was my mother’s best friend for ten years. She asked if there were peanuts in the food and everyone said no. When she immediately felt unwell, she asked someone to take her to the hospital,” wrote X user @hideyagrannies.

A PEOPLE reporter at the event saw Brown receiving CPR and later learned that 911 was immediately called.

“We are devastated by the death of Dominique Brown, a beloved member of the BoxLunch collective, who suffered a medical emergency at an event hosted by BoxLunch in Los Angeles on Thursday,” a BoxLunch representative said in a statement Saturday. Brown’s brother Patrick Ramos responded to her death in a comment on her recent Instagram post, thanking her fans for their support.

“Hello everyone, this is @pramos313 – Dominique’s brother,” Ramos commented on Friday, December 6th. “I wanted to take a moment to thank her social media following for showing her so much love and light.” While Disney brought her joy, it was unprecedented that she had one found a community that loved her and Disney as much as she did. I will miss my sister and best friend and the infectious smile she always had. I really thank you from the bottom of my heart. ❤️🥺.”

According to Brown’s Instagram account (her stage name is HellooDomo), Brown lived in Long Beach, California, and was a Disney fan who was interested in theme parks and collectibles.

On November 27th, she posted a photo of herself at one Moana 2 Screening.

She is also known for co-founding BlackGirlDisney with Mia Von after realizing she was underrepresented in the Disney influencer space. Their mission was to create a welcoming community for women of color who love the brand’s films and theme parks.

“Thank you, Dominique, for bringing the Black Girl Disney community together. You are such a light that everyone can feel through the screen or in person,” one follower commented on her recent Instagram post.

Another commented: “I’ve just been sitting here thinking about what to say because I can’t understand you not being here. Thank you for creating and holding space for all Black Disney girls. I hope you know that you are loved so much and will be deeply missed. I love you so much.”
