Donatella Versace was among the legendary guests who attended the The Devil Wears Prada Musical charity gala in London on Sunday evening.

The Italian fashion designer hit the red carpet in a stunning sheer bronze mini dress with intricate beading and fringes along the hem and sleeves. Underneath the glamorous scoop neckline, she wore an elegant black strapless bodysuit and sheer black stockings. Because the evening benefited the Elton John Aids Foundation, Versace also wore a red AIDS awareness ribbon on her chest.

Versace has become known for its sky-high platform shoes. The luxury brand’s ‘Medusa Aevitas’ pumps became popular with celebrities following their debut appearance at the Fall 2021 runway show. After being released in a range of colors and materials, the eye-catching statement heels with closed square toes and Medusa head charms became ubiquitous.

Everyone from Anne Hathaway to Olivia Rodrigo to Elle Fanning and Chrissy Teigen have debuted the incredible 7-inch model. At her star-studded wedding to Brooklyn Beckham in April 2022, Nicole Peltz even wore the “Medusa Aevitas” made of white satin.

For shoes, she wore brown leather platform boots that hugged her calves and stopped just below the knee. The slightly casual style featured a pointed toe on a huge platform sole and ultra-high, curved block heels.

Donatella Versace took on the role of vice president when her older brother Gianni Versace founded his eponymous luxury brand in 1978. Until Gianni’s untimely death in 1997, Donatella served as her brother’s creative advisor. After taking a break from the Italian fashion house, she took on the role of chief designer and vice president of the board. During the 2000s, Donatella increased the brand’s awareness around the world and truly made the company her own. This led to big celebrities like Madonna, Beyoncé and Jennifer Lopez wearing Versace again and again.
