Giant red vending machines that offer Oklahomans a way to give back to those in need are coming to Scissortail Park. The Giving Machines, which allow people to donate to community charities with the push of a button, will be open for business starting Wednesday at Oklahoma City Park. The machines are part of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ “Light the World” campaign. Inside the machines are rows of cards with items needed throughout the community. They are the first in Oklahoma and have items ranging in price from $5 to $200. Organizers said the machines give Oklahomans a chance to visualize what they are giving. Donations will go to Oklahoma City charities including the Regional Food Bank and Pivot. The big red machines are behind the feather statue in Scissortail Park. A ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday at 4 p.m. People can donate until January 4th.
