Draymond Green’s updated injury status for Warriors-Pacers

Draymond Green’s updated injury status for Warriors-Pacers

The Golden State Warriors avoided a four-game losing streak last Saturday, leaving Minnesota with a 113-103 victory over the Timberwolves, helped by Stephen Curry’s 31-point double-double. Their goal is to turn their previous losing streak into back-to-back wins when they return home to the Chase Center to host the Indiana Pacers.

Against the Timberwolves last Saturday, the Warriors were without defender Draymond Green, who was unable to play due to a left ankle injury. With his status in question ahead of today’s match, the team has provided an update on the former All-Star’s position.

Green will return for the Warriors tonight after being released during pregame warmups. In this matchup, Golden State expects to defend Indiana’s All-Star forward Pascal Siakam, who is currently averaging 22.3 points and 10.3 rebounds during the Pacers’ four-game winning streak.

Additionally, Green earns the starting nod for Golden State tonight, his 23rd start of the season.

Earlier this season it was announced that the Warriors would use Green in favor of Jonathan Kuminga, who has since returned to the bench in the last two games. Newcomer Dennis Schröder will look to post his first double-digit scoring game as a Warrior, with Green helping to improve playmaking.

Entering today’s contest, Green enters the game averaging 8.9 points, 6.0 rebounds and 5.6 assists while averaging one block and one steal.
