Drew Lock looks set to start for the New York Giants in Week 17

Drew Lock should be healthy and ready to start Sunday for the New York Giants when they face the Indianapolis Colts in the final home game of the 2024 season, head coach Brian Daboll said Tuesday.

Lock underwent an MRI scan of his throwing shoulder following Sunday’s 34-7 loss to the Atlanta Falcons. With Lock ready to play, Tommy DeVito will be the No. 2 quarterback and Tim Boyle will be the third quarterback in an emergency.

Linebacker Micah McFadden (burner), running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. (ankle), center John Michael Schmitz (ankle), cornerback Greg Stroman (shoulder/shin), defensive tackle Cory Durden, cornerback Dru Phillips and wide receiver Malik Nabers will not practice on Tuesday.

Here’s how things went for the Giants in 2024. Safety Raheem Layne, who was added to the 53-man roster just last week, will reportedly end the season on IR after suffering a torn meniscus in Sunday’s loss to Atlanta had.

Layne, 25, played in 11 games for the Los Angeles Chargers during the 2022 and 2023 seasons. In 2023, he suffered a season-ending torn Achilles tendon and spent that season rehabbing on the Giants’ practice squad.

Layne played in just two games for the Giants. On Sunday, he had three solo tackles in 22 defensive snaps.
