“Duck Dynasty” star Phil Robertson has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease.

On Friday’s episode of the Unashamed with the Robertson Family podcast, Phil’s son Jase revealed the diagnosis.

“Phil isn’t feeling well. I think I spoke on the 1000th podcast, we tried to figure out the diagnosis, but according to the doctors he has some kind of blood disease that causes all sorts of problems,” Jase said.

“It’s like an acceleration and it causes problems with his entire body. And he suffers from early-stage Alzheimer’s. So when you put these things together, he’s really not doing well. He’s fighting,” he continued.

Phil was a key part of the Unashamed podcast, but due to the deterioration of his health, he is literally “unable to sit down and have a conversation,” Jase revealed. He also noted that his father can barely walk around these days without “screaming in pain.”

Jase noted that the medical team told him and his family that “what Phil has can’t be cured.”

“We’re trying to make him a little more comfortable,” he noted.

In the podcast episode, Jase noted that the Robertson family greatly appreciates the prayers and support shown to Phil.

Phil starred in Duck Dynasty from 2012 to 2017. He also founded the Duck Commander Company.

In 2013, A&E suspended the “Duck Dynasty” patriarch for equating gay people with sinners from hell in a GQ interview. A firestorm ensued among his legions of defenders, who felt the star was being censored by the network, which later reinstated him to duty.

In 2022 Phil published his book: “Uncancelled: Finding Meaning and Peace in a Culture of Accusation, Shame, and Judgment.” It was examined how today’s cancel culture can be countered with the Christian faith.

“Those who attacked me, I didn’t blame them,” Robertson told Fox News Digital at the time. “They asked me a question about a specific sin, homosexual behavior. And they asked if I thought it was a sin. I thought that was a strange question to ask someone, but I just quoted a Bible verse… I quoted God “I had something to say about this sin and nine other sins, but it was on the list of sins … When we made ‘Duck Dynasty,’ the upper crust at A&E decided to throw the ax at me without first looking at what had happened.”

The suspension was immediately praised by gay rights groups. Conservative fans argued that their viewpoints were often overlooked by Hollywood and the media. More than half a million people liked an impromptu Facebook page calling for a boycott of the show until Robertson returns.

“They put me on what’s called an indefinite break,” Robertson explained. “I said, ‘I think I might get fired, right?’ Hiatus says you’re no longer part of the program. After nine days they accepted me back, but we had all sorts of sponsors who just made fun of what I said. And that’s why they tried to cancel me, but I still love them.

“The Bible teaches us to love our neighbor even when he makes mistakes,” he shared.

Robertson and his extended family first became TV and pop culture stars in 2012. “Duck Dynasty” set cable ratings records for a nonfiction series.

After Robertson caused a stir, the fifth season of Duck Dynasty experienced a significant decline in audience. The New York Times reported. The show officially ended in 2017 after eleven seasons.

“No regrets at all – none,” he said. “I just kept going. I never called the emergency room and asked, ‘What are you doing?’ I didn’t say a word when they came to see me about ten days after it ended. “Have you ever heard an angry call from me because you fired me?” They said, “Mr. Robertson, you never said a word.” … I quoted a Bible verse that talked about homosexual behavior.

“I just quoted the Bible verse that God had written by the power of the Holy Spirit through the Apostle Paul… I didn’t dream it spontaneously. “It didn’t go any further,” said Phil.
