Ducks QB Dillon Gabriel “wasn’t high” during interview, Oregon reporter says

When Dillon Gabriel gave an interview earlier this week in which he called for more football to be played on beautiful grass, in sunshine and fireworks, or in domes, he wasn’t high. This is what the reporter from Oregon who conducted the interview says.

Brenna Greene set the record straight after watching the internet explode with suggestions that Gabriel’s hilarious interview that went viral was because the Oregon Ducks quarterback may have been using controlled substances.

She blamed the silliness of the interview on the early hour of the morning it was conducted and on the fact that Gabriel was already a stupid guy. These two factors, coupled with a pinch of demand, created the incredible quote.

“I’ll just say this once: Media day was at 8 a.m. and an hour. Dillon wasn’t high,” Greene wrote on Twitter in response to the viral interview.

“He’s being silly and I’m sure the combined exhaustion of how early it was and how much in demand he was probably contributed to that quote.”

She didn’t like the fact that she felt like she had to bring up the interview. She added: “Kind of annoyed that something innocent and funny was chosen, but that’s the internet for you.”

Dillon Gabriel and the Oregon Ducks do their best in the Rose Bowl

This is the Internet for you. When you’re asked, “What’s your best look?” And if part of your answer involves grass, more sun, domes, and fireworks, some assumptions are being made.

“We love the Rose Bowl. We love warm weather. I think we should play more games on nice grass instead of artificial grass. The more sun, the better. Why are we doing this to ourselves?” was part of Gabriel’s statement.

“Do the fans want to sit in the snow and rain? Let’s build arenas. Let’s build domes. More lawn. Let’s have more fireworks at games. Yes, we will do that.”

Here is the viral interview with Oregon Ducks quarterback Dillon Gabriel. You decide if he’s not a morning person or if there’s more going on.

Gabriel and the Oregon Ducks face the Ohio State Buckeyes in the Rose Bowl this afternoon. He has a chance to finish out his six-year college career in the sun and then in some domes.

Unfortunately, there’s a good chance the fireworks situation will fall short of the Oregon quarterback’s early hours, which definitely aren’t high expectations.
