Durham teens face 186 vehicle break-in charges in five neighborhoods :: WRAL.com

Durham police have filed 186 juvenile reports against three teenagers in connection with multiple vehicle break-ins.

According to police, a 15-year-old boy, a 16-year-old boy and a 17-year-old boy have been linked to multiple burglaries at five locations that occurred between the evening of November 13th and the early morning hours of November 14th .

Durham Police said incidents occurred in:

  • The 20th block of Providence Court
  • The 1800 block of NC Highway 54
  • The 1900 block of West Park Drive
  • The 2500 block of Meridian Parkway
  • The 3000 block of Ivey Wood Lane

Each juvenile was accused of:

  • 37 counts of breaking and entering of a motor vehicle
  • Seven theft offenses
  • Two counts of theft of a firearm
  • One count of theft of a motor vehicle

Durham Police are asking community members to remember to secure their vehicles and park in well-lit areas. Police are also advising people to remove spare keys, valuables and weapons from their vehicles. People are urged to report any suspicious activity to 911.
