Dwayne Johnson reacts icily to Vin Diesel’s post-feud Golden Globes praise

Dwayne Johnson seemed less impressed as he received a shoutout from his Fast & Furious co-star Vin Diesel at the Golden Globes, despite reportedly healing the rift between them.

As Diesel walked on stage to present the Cinematic Achievement and Box Office Award, he spotted Johnson and gave him a small wave. “Hey Dwayne,” he said pointedly and chuckled.

The WWE star smiled briefly, but quickly turned icier as other members of the Beverly Hills Hilton audience began laughing at the palpable discomfort.

Johnson played Luke Hobbs in five films in the popular action franchise, including his own 2019 spin-off Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw opposite Jason Statham.

In recent years, there has been a public falling out between him and Diesel, which led to his absence from Diesel Q9 And Fast X in 2023. However, writing on

“We will move forward with brotherhood and determination – always caring for the franchise, the characters and the FANS we love,” he wrote. “I’ve built my career on the ‘audience first’ mentality and that will always be my North Star.”

But social media users were quick to notice how uncomfortable the room was on Sunday evening. “You can break the tension between The Rock and Vin Diesel with a knife,” one user wrote.

“I thought some shit was going to pop off,” said another. “Tonight we got to see what the stone looks like when it dreams of ripping Vin Diesel in half,” another user added.

“You could literally see The Rock’s hatred for Vin Diesel in that shot. Oh my god… Amazing haha.”

The feud between Johnson and Diesel became public in 2016 when Johnson posted an inflammatory Instagram post directed at an unnamed co-star, who he later confirmed was Diesel.

“Some act like stand-ups and real professionals, others don’t,” he wrote. “Those who don’t do that are too cowardly to do anything about it anyway. Sweet asses.

“If you watch this movie next April and it seems like I’m not in some of these scenes and my blood is boiling, then you’re right.”
