Eagles vs. Cowboys: Live score updates, highlights, injury news

The Philadelphia Eagles are back at Lincoln Financial Field to take on the Dallas Cowboys. The Birds, who hold a 7.5-point lead at home, are rocking their alternate Kelly Green jerseys (aka their best uniforms), with Kenny Pickett starting at quarterback.

If all goes according to plan, the Eagles will leave Week 17 with a record of 13-3. A win also secures the NFC East crown and is no worse than the No. 2 seed in the NFC playoff picture. A loss, in turn, could result in the Eagles having to play their starters in Week 18 to prevent them from losing control of the division.

FIRST QUARTER

  • The Eagles won the first coin toss and elected to defer, as they normally do. The Cowboys went first, with Jake Elliott, not Braden Mann, leading the opening kickoff. Elliott kicked the ball through the end zone to prevent dangerous returner KaVontae Turpin from having a chance to catch the ball. Cooper Rush hit Brandin Cooks for a first down, although Jalen Carter yielded and took a QB hit on the Cowboys quarterback. Dallas picked up another first down with a couple of runs from Rico Dowdle. After breaking tight coverage to force an incompletion on a deep throw, Quinyon Mitchell faced 3rd-and-3. Rush threw straight to CJ Gardner-Johnson for a pick-six! 69 yards on return. That’s a nice start. EAGLES 7, COWBOYS 0.
  • The Cowboys began their second drive at their own 30-yard line after another Elliott touchback. Dallas slowly but surely gained three first downs in plus territory. On the 3rd-and-9 play, Slay gave up a big first-down catch to the Cooks (and was also called for a defensive hold, which was declined) to allow the Cowboys to enter the red zone. After Ezekiel Elliott suffered a tackle, Nolan Smith had to fend off Rush’s pass. But Smith was called for a defensive hold to give the Cowboys a first down at the 4-yard line. Rush then completed a jump ball pass to Jalen Tolbert, allowing Mitchell to score. 12 plays, 70-yard touchdown drive by the Cowboys offense to tie the game. EAGLES 7, COWBOYS 7.
