Heisman Trophy finalist Dillon Gabriel leads Oregon’s potent offense and presents numerous challenges to opposing defenses. That unity will be on full display in the Rose Bowl, with a spot in the CFP semifinals on the line.

Oregon knows Ohio State from the last game this season. The Buckeyes traveled to Eugene for one of the biggest games of the year and the Ducks won 32-31 at Autzen Stadium.

However, Oregon also had to prepare for Tennessee during its first-round bye, and Dan Lanning said the Ducks scouted them both in advance of the first-round matchup. This helped them prepare for both teams to advance.

“We’re kind of preparing for both (teams).” Lanning said. “In the first week we focused on ourselves and looked very closely at ourselves and who we are. Then this week we’ll do a little bit of both (preparation) for Tennessee and Ohio State.”

Oregon enters the College Football Playoff with strong offenses on both sides. The Ducks rank 15th in the country with 449.8 yards of offense per game and 13th in the FBS with 35.9 points per game. On defense, Oregon was equally impressive, ranking in the top 10 with 301.8 yards allowed per game and ranking 12th with an average of 17.8 points allowed.
