Elon Musk clarifies his stance on H-1B visas, saying: “Those who want America to win…”

Billionaire Elon Musk has pointed to his “consistent stance on immigration” in the dispute with MAGA traditionalist Laura Loomer over H1B visas.

A user on Musk reiterated this, adding: “This is the right position for those who want America to win.” I have no respect for those who want America to lose for personal reasons. Zero.”

US President-elect Donald Trump remains silent while his two camps – the hardliners and the technocrats – publicly compete against each other on social media.

US immigration debate

Musk’s attempt at clarification comes amid a dispute with MAGA traditionalist Laura Loomer over .

“Perhaps this is a helpful clarification: I am referring to the fact that bringing in the top ~0.1% of engineering talent through legal immigration is critical for America to continue to thrive. “That’s like bringing in the Jokic’s or Wemby’s of the world to help your entire team (which is mostly American!) win the NBA,” he wrote.

The world’s richest man compared the US and its talent to a sports team, saying: “Viewing America as a professional sports team that has been winning for a long time and wants to continue to win is the right mental construct.”

In another post on Think of it like a professional sports team: If you want your TEAM to win the championship, you need to recruit top talent wherever they are. This means the entire TEAM can win.” (sic)

MAGA split expands

Meanwhile, in several posts, Loomer has accused Musk of limiting the reach of her X account and claimed her verification badge was removed by the billionaire because she spoke out against him.

“Because @elonmusk censored my account in retaliation for speaking out about Big Tech and immigration. He removed my check mark and canceled all my subscriptions. We are experiencing totalitarian censorship. I am deeply disturbed by what is happening. MAGA is under attack,” she claimed.

Meanwhile, Musk reached out to X users, saying their reach could be affected if many “credible and verified” accounts had muted or blocked them. Loomer was not directly mentioned. “Just a reminder that the algorithm tries to maximize wasted user seconds. If far more credible, verified subscriber accounts (not bots) mute/block your account compared to those who like your posts, your reach will drop significantly,” he said.

H-1B Visa Information

Musk and Loomer’s main point of contention was the H-1B visa.

The H-1B visa is a nonimmigrant visa that allows U.S. companies to employ foreign workers in specialized occupations that require theoretical and technical expertise.

It is important to note that not all professionals are eligible for an H-1B visa. This visa is valid for careers in fields such as IT, engineering, mathematics, science and medicine. The validity is three years and can be extended up to six years.
