Elon Musk immediately jumped in to help after Cybertruck explosion, says suspect ‘picked the wrong vehicle’

After a Tesla Cybertruck exploded outside the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas on Wednesday, Elon Musk, co-founder and CEO of the electric vehicle maker, immediately jumped in and offered to help authorities investigate the incident.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Sheriff Kevin McMahill thanked Musk after the explosion, saying Musk provided invaluable “additional information” and noting that Musk provided videos of Tesla charging stations.

The explosion was caught on camera, and the sheriff noted that the vehicle had “limited” blast damage, as most of the explosion went “up and out through the truck.”

The sheriff also noted that the hotel’s glass doors did not break because the truck largely absorbed the explosion.
