At the premiere of The devil wears Prada In a West End musical, Sir Elton John said he had lost his sight. “As some of you may know, I have been struggling and have now lost my sight. I didn’t get to see the performance, but I enjoyed it,” he told the crowd. His husband David Furnish then helped him off the stage. John thanked Furnish. “For my husband, who is my rock because I haven’t been able to get to many previews,” he said, “I have a hard time seeing it, but I love hearing it and it sounded good tonight good.”

John has been struggling with his vision since this summer. In September, he shared on Instagram that he was limited to using only one eye due to an infection. “I am recovering, but it is an extremely slow process and it will take some time before the affected eye can see again,” he wrote.
