Sir Elton John spoke about many things on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Tuesday night, including promising his fans new music.

The 77-year-old singer’s appearance on the CBS talk show came just weeks after he admitted he had lost his sight on the red carpet of The Devil Wears Prada: The Musical at the Dominion Theater in London.

The popular singer spoke about a variety of topics throughout the episode, but confirmed at the end that he will be bringing fans new music in the future despite losing his eyesight.

When host Stephen Colbert asked if his “creative juices” were still flowing, John said, “You’re going to get more (music).”

“The juices have never run out, they never want to run out, because I always want to create things,” John admitted.

“It’s about having the space to do it on my own time and of course there will be new music from Elton John,” he confirmed.

John has released 31 solo studio albums, starting with 1969’s Empty Sky, with his most recent new album, 2016’s Wonderful Crazy Night.

He also fired Regimental Sgt. 2021’s Zippo, recorded in 1967 and 1968, was intended to be his debut album before the album was dropped.

It remained unreleased until Record Store Day in 2021, followed by a larger release in July 2022.

John has toured almost continuously since 1970, although his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour, which spanned five years from 2018 to 2023, marked the end of his days on the road.

When asked how it felt “not having another world tour coming up,” John admitted: “It’s the most fantastic thing in the world.”

Although he didn’t mention his failing eyesight, he admitted that he loved traveling, but now there are things he loves even more.

“I love the world tours. I’ve been touring for 55 years. I ended with a climax. My voice was great. The piano playing was great. “The band was great,” he said.

“There are other things I want to do in my life that are more important than touring. “I’ll still make records. I will still have a musical future. But I want to be with my boys and I want to be with David because I love them more than touring,” he said of husband David Furnish and their sons Zachary, 13, and Eljiah, 11.

Given his enormous popularity and cultural significance, John was asked which artists “touched his heart” when he was younger.

“So many who touched my heart.” Little Richard touched my heart because he was so great. Ray Charles touched my heart. “So many people,” John said.

He then admitted: “Elvis Presley changed my life with Heartbreak Hotel. When I first heard that record I knew I wanted to do that, I want to do that, I love that, that’s so different.”

Elton John’s life and amazing career are comprehensively portrayed in the new documentary “Elton John: Never Too Late,” which premiered last week on Disney Plus.
