Erik McCoy among the inactive Saints vs. Rams in Week 13 | Saints

The New Orleans Saints will have to wait at least another week before getting Erik McCoy back into the lineup.

McCoy was officially questionable as to whether he would participate in the Saints’ Week 13 game against the Los Angeles Rams, but was listed among the team’s inactive players as of Sunday afternoon.

Joining McCoy on the inactive list were guard Lucas Patrick (ankle), running back Jordan Mims, linebacker Jaylan Ford, receiver Mason Tipton, defensive tackle Khristian Boyd and quarterback Spencer Rattler, who serves as the third quarterback in an emergency.

McCoy missed seven straight games earlier this season after suffering a groin injury on the first offensive series against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 3. He returned to the lineup for the Saints’ Week 11 win over the Cleveland Browns, but suffered another groin injury and was unable to play to finish the game.

After last week’s bye, New Orleans was confident McCoy could play this week even though he wasn’t able to practice all week because of his injury.

The Saints prepared for McCoy to miss this week’s game when they signed rookie Kyle Hergel from their practice squad to the active roster on Saturday.
