Everton vs Chelsea: Premier League preview, team news, stats and head-to-head

  • Everton have won five of their last six Premier League home games against Chelsea (L1), as many as they have won in the last 17 against Chelsea at Goodison Park (D4 L8).

  • Chelsea beat Everton 6-0 in their last Premier League game but have not beaten the Toffees since three consecutive meetings between November 2016 and August 2017.

  • Everton have conceded four 0-0 draws in the Premier League so far this season, more than any other team. That’s the most in a single campaign since 2015-16 (also 4), while they last had more in 2008-09 (5).

  • Since the start of May, Chelsea have scored more goals (51), won more games (15) and collected more points (49) than any other team in the Premier League.

  • Only Liverpool (7) have conceded more goals in the Premier League this season than Everton (6). However, the Toffees have also failed to score in the most games this season (8), while no team has scored in more games than Chelsea (15).

  • Chelsea have won their last five Premier League games, most recently in November 2019 under Frank Lampard (6) with more consecutive wins.

  • Everton lost their first two Premier League home games this season, conceding three goals in each game. Since then, they have been unbeaten in five games at Goodison Park (W2 D3), keeping three clean sheets and conceding just two goals.

  • Chelsea have won more away games (6), more away points (19) and more away goals (23) than any other team in the Premier League this season. In fact, their 23 goals scored is the third highest tally after eight away games in a single Premier League season, behind only Liverpool in 2021/22 (26) and Manchester City in 2011/12 (25).

  • Whatever the results of this weekend’s games, Chelsea are guaranteed to be in the top two of the Premier League at Christmas for the first time since 2016/17 (1st). The Blues have won the title on all five occasions they were top at Christmas (2004–05, 2005–06, 2009–10, 2014–15 and 2016–17), but they have never won it when they were on December 25, runner-up (1998-99, 2002-03, 2006-07, 2008-09).

  • With 57 shots and 44 chances created, Chelsea’s Cole Palmer is the only player to have been involved in over 100 attempts in the Premier League this season. This game could be his 50th in the competition for the Blues – with 33 goals and 17 assists, he is already the fourth player to score more than 50 goals in his first 50 Premier League games for a club (Erling Haaland 62 with Man City, Andrew Cole 57 with Newcastle and Mohamed Salah 52 with Liverpool).
