Vanderbilt football has shown this season that it has the potential to surprise.

After being the overwhelming pick and finishing last in the newly formed 16-team SEC, the Commodores are bowl-eligible with a 6-5 record. They also achieved their goal with some unexpected victories, none more impressive than the Oct. 5 home win against then-No. 1 Alabama.

Coach Clark Lea’s team can pull off another surprise at the end of the regular season – and at the expense of an in-state rival.
