Ex-Eagles Pro Bowler worth $128 million is expected to sign with the Steelers

The 2024 National Football League regular season is about to end.

There is only one game week left before some teams advance to the playoffs and some teams go home. Fortunately, the Philadelphia Eagles are one of the teams that will make it to the playoffs.

The Eagles have shined so well this season that they don’t have to worry about Week 18. Philadelphia will be the No. 2 seed in the NFC in the playoffs and will have a break in the final regular season game of the season.

Another team that will rest in the starting lineup is the Kansas Cit Chiefs. Kansas City will be the No. 1 seed in the AFC in the playoffs, so the starters are resting, including Patrick Mahomes. That’s why former Eagles Pro Bowler Carson Wentz will have a chance to show what he can do.

He’ll be playing in place of Mahomes and that could be good for him since he’ll be heading into free agency after the season ends. Wentz was once one of the most exciting quarterbacks in the league and even received a four-year, $128 million contract with Philadelphia in the past.

He’s no longer at that level, but given a good performance with the Chiefs, it wouldn’t be shocking to see him sign a new deal this offseason. Cody Benjamin of CBS Sports predicted that he will sign a contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers to be Russell Wilson’s replacement this coming offseason.

“Carson Wentz signs with the Steelers as Russell Wilson’s new replacement,” Benjamin said.

It’s too early to tell, but the Steelers will be a team looking for at least one quarterback this coming offseason. Maybe Wentz could be an option.
