The brazen murder sparked a nationwide manhunt that lasted five days and ended Monday in Altoona, Pennsylvania, where Mangione was discovered in a McDonald’s by a customer and an employee who alerted police.

When officers arrived, they found Mangione wearing a medical mask and cap and working on a laptop at a table in the back of the restaurant. Mangione allegedly gave officers a fake ID, gave a fake name and “went quiet and started shaking” when asked if he had been in New York recently.
