Famous face joins Cody Rhodes and others in the ring after WWE SmackDown goes off the air

Cody Rhodes and others hung out with an A-list star after SmackDown was canceled.

On Friday Night’s edition of SmackDown on January 3, A-list celebrity and WWE fan Vanessa Hudgens was in attendance and was seen interacting with the show before “Yeeting” the night after the cameras stopped.

During the show, the Spring Breakers star was seen standing and saluting the longest-reigning American women’s champion, Chelsea Green. But it wasn’t until after the show that she became much more involved.

After the main event, where the new Bloodline trio of Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga defeated the OG Bloodline trio of The Usos and Sami Zayn, Rhodes joined his friends to rid the ring of the heels. The American Nightmare then invited Hudgens to the ring for a “Yeet.” The moment was captured by Footprint Center staff and posted online.

Earlier in the night, Tiffany Stratton became the new women’s champion when she cashed in her Money In The Bank briefcase against Nia Jax.

Cody Rhodes vs. Kevin Owens in a ladder match at WWE Royal Rumble 2025

Towards the end of 2024, Rhodes became involved in a bitter feud with his former friend Kevin Owens. Following their title match at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13, Owens brutally attacked Rhodes, delivering a package piledriver to the champion, rendering him unable to compete.

Filled with rage and revenge, Rhodes then demanded that he face Owens in a ladder match for the WWE Championship at the Royal Rumble on February 1st.

SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis then made the match official for the upcoming PLE at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
