Fans brave the cold as the rivalry between Notre Dame and Indiana heats up before kickoff

There has been a lively crowd on and around campus since early Friday morning and fans want to be part of this historic duel.

Hundreds of fans were out early in the morning – and the frigid temperatures show no signs of slowing down both Irish and Hoosier fans.

Blue, gold and green seem to dominate most tailgate areas, but cream and purple are also present in large numbers.

Scott Selensky, a longtime native of Notre Dame South Bend but whose daughter attends Indiana University, says today is a win-win.

“I thought we were done, I’ve been in this exact spot at every home game this year and never thought we’d be here again. I knew we had a good season, but I didn’t know what it would look like.” “A lot of things are falling into place, so having Notre Dame play IU is a great moment for the state,” Zelensky said.

Additionally, the team at Coachmen RV is introducing a brand new RV nicknamed BAR-V. This new vehicle is suitable for tailgating and features an outside bar and service window.

Coachmen’s Max Keagle says this game is exciting for our region.

“It’s a very unique experience and it’s really a big part of our community and it’s really intertwined with our region. Everyone is a part of it. So when you become a part of it with the community, with things like…” “It’s a really exciting day and it’s really cool that people are paying attention to little old South Bend,” Keagle said.
