Fantasy Football Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em Week 17: Tee Higgins, Chase Brown

The Cincinnati Bengals (7-8) host the Denver Broncos (9-6) for their final home game in Week 17 on Saturday afternoon.

This contest has playoff implications for both franchises. A win for Cincinnati will keep their hopes alive heading into Week 18. Denver can secure a spot in the postseason with a win and eliminate the Bengals.

With Cincinnati’s season on the line, fantasy football managers should capitalize on two players to add to your lineup this weekend.

Fantasy Football Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em: Tee Higgins

Higgins had a solid performance in Week 16 against the Cleveland Browns, where he had eight catches for 58 yards and a touchdown on 11 targets. He has scored double-digit targets in three of his last five games and scored a touchdown in five of his last six games.

This weekend, Higgins faces a Denver defense that hasn’t been kind to receivers this season. According to Pro Football Reference, they have the fifth-fewest PPG for receivers and are the only team in the NFL to allow fewer than 10 receiving touchdowns at the position.

That might tell you to sit out Higgins, but the Broncos haven’t been as strict with the position lately. In the last four games, five receivers have had to reach at least 80 receiving yards, and three of those receivers have surpassed the 100-yard mark.

Higgins is a low-end WR2 in Week 16 who can handle his matchup due to the amount of targets he can see and Joe Burrow’s great play this season. He’s worth the risk if he’s active on Saturday.

Verdict: Start ‘Em

Fantasy Football Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em: Chase Brown

If you’re reading this, it probably means Brown helped lead your fantasy football team to the championship game. He has recorded at least 15 touches and 100 total yards in his last five appearances.

This Saturday, he’ll face a Denver defense that has the 13th fewest PPG allowed to running backs this season, according to Pro Football Reference. They are one of 11 teams in the league that have not allowed double-digit rushing touchdowns to the position, but have the second-most touchdowns allowed (six) to running backs.

The Broncos’ defense has only allowed one running back to rush for more than 75 yards in the last four games, Jonathan Taylor. They allowed five touchdowns to the position in those contests, but it would have to be six if JT didn’t infamously drop the ball before crossing the end zone.

Brown is on a hot streak in Week 17, and you can’t sit out players who have made it to this point. Keep him in your lineups.

Verdict: Start ‘Em
