Find out when the new NCIS episodes will be released in 2025 (confirmed)

NCISNew 2025 episodes are on their way back to screens as all three series prepare to return from their winter break.

The NCIS The franchise showed no signs of slowing down when it returned in October 2024, highlighting various branches and eras of the Naval Criminal Investigative Service. Originally developed as a spin-off of JAG As of 2003, the franchise is now in its 22nd year and has spawned five spin-off series.

Three of these series are still running in 2025, including the original NCIS and two newer series that debuted in recent years.

Paramount and CBS have officially confirmed when the latest seasons of NCIS, NCIS: OriginsAnd NCIS: Sydney will return to the small screen in 2025.

The second part of NCIS Season 22 returns to air on CBS starting Monday, January 27, in the one-hour time slot at 9 p.m. ET.

One hour later at 10 p.m. ET on Monday, January 27th NCIS: Originswhich is in the middle of its first season.

Then Friday will be home for NCIS: Sydney as Season 2 debuts on Friday, January 31st at 8pm ET. These will be the first new episodes of this series since Season 1 ran from November to December 2023.

NCIS Season 22

Originally developed as JAG spin-off, NCISThe first season aired on CBS in September 2003. The series follows a team of special agents in the Naval Criminal Investigative Service’s Major Case Response Team based in Washington, D.C. (which was compromised early on). NCIS Season 22 after Agent McGee’s near exit).

Over the past two decades, this team has regularly investigated crimes involving the U.S. Navy, particularly the deaths of soldiers and Marines. However, some of their cases are far larger, with the fate of the geopolitical world sometimes hanging in the balance.

The team was last seen tackling a Christmas-inspired case in Season 22, Episode 9 and will continue to deal with a transition of power at NCIS. Following Gabrielle LaRoche’s promotion to NCIS Deputy Director, tensions between him and the team will continue as McGee continues to lead his staff.

NCIS: Origins Season 1

CBS is in the middle of the first season of its newest series NCIS spin-off, NCIS: Originswhich will air again in January. It tells the story of the original NCIS Starring Leroy Jethro Gibbs, first played by Mark Harmon, as Harmon returns to take viewers through his early days as an NCIS special agent.

The younger Gibbs is portrayed by Austin Stowell as he deals with the legendary TV protagonist’s younger years. This version of the character is seen as he begins his time at the NIS office at Camp Pendleton and finds his place in a ragtag team of agents led by NCIS Regular Mike Franks.

In this story, Gibbs is still trying to come to terms with the murder of his wife and daughter, which was described in a flashback episode from the end of NCIS Season 3 in 2006. Fans see how many gaps in Gibbs’ life were filled long before his 19-year run as the lead in the original series of this franchise.

NCIS: Sydney Season 2

NCIS: Sydney returns to air for Season 2 after the first episodes conclude in December 2023. It’s about a joint task force consisting of NCIS agents and Australian Federal Police (AFP) officers working together on a case involving American military personnel.

This team is led by NCIS Special Agent in Charge Olivia Swann’s Michelle Mackey. Joining the cast are Todd Lasanse (AFP Deputy Jim “JD” Dempsey), Sean Sagar (NCIS Special Agent DeShawn Jackson), Tuuli Narkle (AFP Liaison Officer Constable Evie Cooper) and more.

Last season, the team set out to rescue JD’s nine-year-old son from an international assassin who kidnapped him, putting the entire NCIS and AFP team in danger. The season then ends with a cliffhanger as the team learns about the mysterious Colonel Rankin through a mysterious phone call.


The NCIS The franchise returns to CBS starting Monday, January 27th. Old seasons and new episodes can be seen on Paramount+.
