ODESSA, Texas (KOSA) – FIRST ALERT 7 Forecast for Tuesday, December 10, 2024: It will be a cool day across West Texas and southeastern New Mexico, with some areas possibly even experiencing severe weather during the morning hours !

Highs across the region will only “warm” into the 40s, 50s and 60s. Midland/Odessa is aiming for a high of 48 degrees. Wind speeds between 10 and 20 miles per hour continue to blow across the region. Skies will be cloudy to start the day, but some sunshine is expected later today. Some severe weather or showers may occur this morning, particularly in southeastern New Mexico and the northern Permian Basin, but impacts appear to be minimal as ground conditions are warm.

A first alert is in effect for tonight and Wednesday morning as widespread frost is expected. Temperatures will be cold in and of themselves, but wind chill values ​​are expected to fall into the teens and lows of 20 degrees across the region. A frost warning is in effect for the far southern parts of the region from tonight until Wednesday morning, with temperatures of up to 27 degrees possible overnight. If you’re not a fan of cooler weather, just hold on because temperatures will warm back up by Friday, reaching the 70-degree mark in many places. Overall, temperatures will remain mild and calm throughout the week.
