GLUCK: A 24-year-old man, in agreement with his father, killed his four sisters and his mother in a hotel room here on Wednesday. He alleged that some locals of his community were committing land-related harassment in their hometown Agra and alleged that they were selling his sisters in Hyderabad. The man, identified as Arshad, went to the police station after dropping his father Mohammed Badar at Charbagh railway station.
On the very first day of the year, on Wednesday morning, Lucknow panicked in the densely populated and commercially active Naka area after police arrived with Arshad at a small hotel and discovered the bodies of women, including a 45-year-old woman her four daughters, ages 9 to 19, in a hotel room.
The man also made a video in which he not only showed the lifeless bodies of his mother and sisters but also explained the reason behind the murders and blamed the neighbors for his extreme step.

All senior police officials, including Lucknow Central Police Deputy Commissioner (DCP) Raveena Tyagi, who reached the scene said Arshad and his father, Mohammad Badar, 55, were the main suspects in the murder of the woman and her four daughters confessed to the crime. She shared, “Mohd Arshad has been taken into custody and further investigations are underway while the search for the father is still ongoing. Teams are scanning the CCTV footage to nab his father,” she said.
The DCP said that the deceased were Aasma, mother of the accused, and his four younger sisters Aalia (9), Aaksha (16), Rehmeen (18) and Aalsiya (19). She said the family lives in Islamnagar, Tehdi Bagiya and Kuberpur in Agra. They reached Lucknow on December 30 and booked room 109 in Hotel Sharanjeet for two days.
She said the injuries on the bodies suggested that the man and his father had strangled them, and the lack of resistance raised suspicions that the deceased had been given sedative-laced food before they were murdered. Her wrists were also slashed.

The DCP said the incident occurred after 1 am as the hotel staff said the deceased were seen walking outside the room by then. She said police are continuing to investigate and try to find out the exact motive behind the crime.
“In the first interrogation, accused Arshad confessed to killing his four sisters and mother and said that people in the neighborhood had been harassing his family. He was afraid that if something happened to him, the same would happen to his mother and sisters, so he decided to kill them,” said DCP Tyagi. The bodies were sent for post-mortem while the Agra police were informed about the incident.
Additional DCP Manisha Singh said an FIR was registered against Arshad under BNS 103 (murder) charge by police sub-inspector Kamal Kumar.
DCP Central Zone Raveena Tyagi said Arshad first took his family to Ajmer and then took them to Lucknow and arranged accommodation in a hotel. At night he made them drink alcohol, gagged some with cloth and strangled them with a dupatta. He slashed other people’s wrists with a blade. His father was involved in the crime.
Arshad then dropped his father at the railway station and went to the police station to report the incident. Based on his statements, the police recovered the murder weapons – a blade and a dupatta. Further interrogations are underway and evidence is being collected to verify every detail.
