Florida fog before the frost

Florida fog before the frost

It’s starting to look a lot like Christ crap.

The Florida capital was shrouded in a thick blanket of fog on Wednesday morning. The haze hung over the city until mid-morning before the sun came through.

Landmarks like Florida’s Capitol were part of a seasonal disappearance amid a dense fog warning from the National Weather Service.

Forecasters expect another dose of holiday gloom overnight into Thursday morning, although it is not expected to be as dense as Wednesday’s darkness.

“Fog is not as easy to predict as other types of weather,” said Wright Dobbs, a meteorologist with the Tallahassee Weather Service.

The Tallahassee skyline is shrouded in fog on Wednesday, December 18, 2024.

Dobbs said the agency could issue another dense fog warning if visibility reached a quarter-mile or less. He advised morning commuters to make sure their headlights are on and those with automatic headlights to double check as they sometimes fail to activate in the morning light.

Dobbs said the coming cold fronts will provide clarity Friday.
