Former Brewers star Corbin Burnes is back in the Netherlands on a big free agent deal

Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Corbin Burnes (39) delivers a pitch against the Arizona Diamondbacks in the second inning on Sunday, June 6, 2021, at American Family Field in Milwaukee.

Former Brewers hurler Corbin Burnes made a big splash in free agency overnight early Saturday, reportedly signing a six-year deal worth $210 million with the Arizona Diamondbacks.

The richest deal in Diamondbacks history includes an opt-out after two years.

After six years with the Brewers, Burnes spent the 2024 season in Baltimore, where he became the first Brewers pitcher to win the Cy Young Award in nearly 40 years. Milwaukee traded him to the Orioles last offseason for pitcher DL Hall and infielder Joey Ortiz.
