Former Chiefs coach suddenly available for a pre-playoff reunion

The Kansas City Chiefs are 11-1 and chasing their third straight Super Bowl title. They have found ways to achieve countless victories despite having a number of different moving parts.

The Chiefs are led by the dynamic duo Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid. With these two leading the way, Kansas City simply finds ways to win.

With five weeks left in the regular season, Kansas City is looking to make another breakthrough in the postseason. While that is the focus of the building, a former coach has just hit the open market.

UCLA and Eric Bieniemy parted ways on Thursday, according to Jordan Schultz. Bieniemy joined the UCLA staff this year as offensive coordinator and associate head coach. The Bruins finished the game with a 5-7 record and averaged just 18.4 points per game and 5.4 yards per play.

Bieniemy was with the Chiefs from 2013 to 2022, where he served as running backs coach and offensive coordinator.

When the 55-year-old was coordinator in Kansas City, the Chiefs scored the most points in the NFL (30.1) and had the highest total yards per game (406.2).

Although the Chiefs have Matt Nagy as their current offensive coordinator, there could be an opportunity for Bieniemy to return in a different role for the playoffs. There’s a sense of comfort for both sides and he could give the Chiefs another productive voice on the offensive side.

Who knows if a site is even open to this, but on paper it makes a lot of sense. He has already won two Super Bowls with Kansas City. Why not try to hunt down a third party?
