Testimony and multiple reports have uncovered sightings of unidentified flying objects (UFOs) across the country, while in recent weeks national attention has focused on apparent drone sightings.

Luiz Elizondo, the former head of the Defense Department’s Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program, and other witnesses testified before Congress last month that a supposed government group “hided the fact that we are not alone in the cosmos.”

“I believe that as Americans we can handle the truth. And I also believe that the world deserves the truth,” Elizondo said, calling on Congress to pass laws to protect whistleblowers who are too afraid to come forward.

The hearing was part of a larger effort by lawmakers to investigate UFOs, or unidentified aerial phenomena (UAPs), and determine whether elements within the government were unlawfully withholding evidence from Congress.

UFO sightings have now been reported in every U.S. state, according to the National UFO Reporting Center, the largest independently collected collection of UFO/UAP sighting reports on the Internet.

A military-trained observer reported that he was camping alone in Mountain Center, California, in October when all natural outside noise suddenly ceased and the entire area “lit up brighter than the brightest full moon he had ever seen,” according to the UFO report. Reporting page.

In April 2022, a witness said she noticed a light in the sky over a Connecticut reservoir and thought it may be an unidentified aerial phenomenon (UAP/UFO), according to NewsNation.

“I’m always a sky watcher, so I was wondering if it was a plane,” the woman told the outlet. “But the way it was moving, there was no way it was a plane.”

Although recent sightings of drones or mysterious aircraft are not necessarily UFO sightings, they have still raised concerns and even attracted the attention of the FBI, leading to talk of the possibility of other unidentified flying objects in the sky has.

“The FBI Newark, the NJ State Police and the NJ Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness urge the public to report any information related to recent sightings of possible drones flying in several areas along the Raritan River,” it said an FBI statement dated December 3 noted.

Last week, that Federal Aviation Administration issued temporary flight restrictions expiring on January 17, 2025, banning drone flights over parts of New Jersey following the spate of sightings, except for drone operations in support of national defense, homeland security, law enforcement, firefighting, search and rescue or disaster relief missions.

However, White House National Security and Communications Advisor John Kirby recently told Fox News that the mysterious drones flying over the country are actually “legal” and “legitimate.”

The White House, in coordination with the FBI and state and local officials, investigated about 5,000 sightings and their analysis concluded that “legitimate, legal, commercial hobby and even law enforcement aircraft activity” was responsible for the sightings, Kirby said of the assessment.

In a recent statement from the Department of Homeland Security, the FBI, the Federal Aviation Administration and the Defense Department, the authorities said that while they “recognize the concern,” there was no evidence that the drones were “anomalous” or a threat to national security or public safety.
