Four-star cornerback Donovan Starr signs with Auburn football

Auburn football won another recruiting battle on Wednesday when four-star cornerback Donovan Starr made good on his commitment to the Tigers and officially signed to play for Hugh Freeze on the Plains.

That didn’t appear to be the case earlier this week when 247Sports’ Tom Loy placed a crystal ball on Starr reversing his commitment to Alabama on signing day.

It’s a remarkable win for the Tigers, beating their biggest rival for a blue-chip player in a position of need.

Starr is currently the ninth highest ranked player in Auburn’s class. He is a consensus four-star recruit, and most sites consider him a fringe top 100 player. According to ESPN, he is the 17th best player in his class.
