Four-star WR commits to Auburn

The future is bright for Auburn’s wide receiver room.

It just got even brighter.

Auburn landed a commitment from four-star wide receiver Devin Carter on Saturday when Carter announced his commitment to the Tigers during the US Navy All American Bowl. He chose Auburn over Alabama, LSU and Ohio State.

“The feeling of family that I first felt when I came to campus continued throughout my high school career,” Carter said of why he chose Auburn. “Every time I go to Auburn I get excited and feel like family.”

Once committed to Florida State, Carter reopened his recruitment nearly a year ago after spending nine months in the Seminoles’ 2026 class. He visited Auburn for a junior day in March of that year and returned to campus in the fall as Marcus Davis continued to make him a priority.

“They have emphasized how much they want me and they are ready now when I am ready. So it was good to know that,” Carter said back in September.

Carter is the second wide receiver to join the Tigers’ 2026 class, joining Hollywood, Florida native Denairius Gray. He is the sixth overall player in his class and his commitment brings Auburn to No. 5 in the Rivals team’s recruiting rankings.

As a junior at Douglas County High School, Carter recorded 41 receptions for 669 yards and five touchdowns in an offense that also featured Texas A&M wide receiver Aaron Gregory and undecided quarterback DJ Bordeaux.

Carter is the highest-rated commitment in Auburn’s 2026 class, which includes Gray, linebackers Shadarius Toodle and Jamichael Garrett, defensive end Hezekiah Harris and safety Wayne Henry.

“Deuce Knight,” Carter said. “I’m coming to work, we’re going to do great things on the Plains.”
