Four thousand local organizations benefit from Colorado Gives Day

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – Tuesday, December 10th is a day for your donations to help. It’s Colorado Gives Day, which began in 2010, before the global Giving Tuesday campaign that took place last week.

The Colorado Gives Foundation says about one hundred thousand Coloradans get involved each year.

We met with Kelly Dunkin, President and CEO of the Colorado Gives Foundation. She says they raised $469 million over their 15 years. These dollars support over four thousand local nonprofit organizations.

Giving is easy. With one purchase, people can donate different amounts to multiple organizations. Dunkin tells us that donating through Colorado Gives comes with an added bonus.

“We donate $1 million to the incentive fund and then we have partners to help us grow that fund. So what it does is provide a boost with every donation that dot org makes through Colorado.”

Donations start as low as five dollars. Once you’ve donated, learn more about how you can use those donations for the upcoming tax season below.
