The co-hosts of Fox & Friends weekend faced a difficult task on Sunday morning: They had to deal with the dispute that broke out among supporters of President-elect Donald Trump over H-1B visas for highly skilled immigrants and escalated significantly on Saturday.

“America First” supporters on the far right want tougher, draconian immigration measures for both illegal and legal immigrants when Trump takes office in January. Among the loudest voices making this argument are far-right activist Laura Loomer and former Trump adviser Steve Bannon.

In contrast, the Silicon Valley “tech bro” force led by Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy that supported his election wants better legal immigration pathways like the H-1B program to address skills gaps in key sectors like engineering, science, etc. to close technology.

Yesterday afternoon, the President-elect supported Musk and the latter argument, saying he has always been a “believer” in the program and has employed employees at his properties in the country on H-1B visas.

He had opposed it during the campaign and in his first term, so the about-face confused some of his core supporters.

This split in MAGAworld before Trump even enters the White House again is uncomfortable and has Fox News tiptoeing through something of a minefield Mediait reported.

Co-host Rachel Campos-Duffy noted that the president-elect’s endorsement of the H-1B visa has “confused a lot of people.”

In streamlining support for skilled worker visas, her colleague Charlie Hurt noted: “The idea of having a program that allows an Elon Musk to come into the country, I don’t think anyone has a problem with that, and Donald Trump certainly does “Not.” I have no problem with that. The problem with the program is that it has been so abused and turned into a system where it is designed for large employers in tech, maybe not cheap labor, but cheaper labor.”

Will Cain, who co-hosted with the pair, added: “We are not an algorithm. We are not a company. We are one country. We are one nation. We are one people. And the purpose of this nation is to serve Americans.”

Campos-Duffy then suggested that tech CEOs like Musk might have to pay American tech workers more attractive wages and pay themselves slightly less if the talent pool shrinks due to more restrictive immigration policies.

“If you limit these visas and only bring in the Elon Musks and the really exceptional people, you’ll see that there’s a tighter market and the wages have to be so high – you have to pay wages that are so young mathematicians.” “Students like my son-in-law, who is married and has a family to support, would like to be there,” she said.

“And that could mean, guys, guess what? Fox News alert! That could mean that the big tech bosses make a little less money and have to pay their workers a little more. I think we would all be fine with that.”

Sounding remarkable, Campos-Duffy added that the federal government should invest in educational opportunities in underserved communities to train the next generation for the jobs currently filled by skilled immigrants.

No matter how cleverly the hosts tried to tackle this sensitive topic, Steve Bannon was having none of it.

The former Trump advisor and moderator of the War room The podcast took to the social media platform Gettr and referenced the Mediait Article wrote: “Stop with the ‘tip-toe’…”

“Choose a side: either stand with American citizen workers or with globalist elitist tech oligarchs who feast on foreign indentured servants… Simple.”
