UPDATE: The PS Plus games for January 2025 have been announced by Sony.

To confirm previous predictions, the PS Plus Essentials are titled “Suicide Squad”. The superhero action game is complemented by Need for Speed Hot Pursuit and The Stanley Parable Ultra Deluxe.

The games can be downloaded and installed from January 7th.

ORIGINAL: PlayStation Plus subscribers are looking forward to the unveiling of free PS4 and PS5 games for January 2025.

A little later than usual, Sony will unveil the PS Plus Essentials on the afternoon of January 1st at 4:30pm GMT UK time.

Subscribers will have to wait even longer for the games, which can be redeemed from the morning of January 7th.

Daily Express will update this article when Sony’s games are officially revealed or if the games are released earlier than planned.

Unfortunately, without further leaks, subscribers will have to make do with predictions.

In fact, many fans in the regular prediction thread on Reddit believe that Resident Evil Village will finally be added to the PS Plus Essentials line, or possibly Resident Evil 4 Remake.

The PS Plus release rumors are largely based on the expectation that Capcom will release a new Resident Evil game in 2025.

Other games featured in the prediction thread include Avatar Frontiers of Pandora, SnowRunner, Atomic Heart, Star Wars Jedi Survivor and Atomic Heart.

Atomic Heart has appeared frequently in recent months, especially since the game left Xbox Game Pass earlier this year.

South Park Snow Day is another game with a lot of predictions, alongside Prince of Persia The Lost Crown, Jusant, Terminator Resistance and the first-person shooter Robocop Rogue City.

It’s probably wishful thinking, but there are even some tips for games like God of War Ragnarok, Lies of P, Lords of the Fallen and Hogwarts Legacy.

While fans will have to wait about a week to play the new PS Plus games, the good news is that the current batch is still available to redeem.

This includes the excellent co-op adventure game It Takes Two, where players team up to solve puzzles and break a curse.

Subscribers can also download and play the surprisingly entertaining strategy game Aliens: Dark Descent, in which you command a squad to defeat Xenomorphs and Weyland-Yutani agents.

The Essentials series also includes the Pokémon-inspired adventure game TemTem.

Daily Express will be back with the full line-up on January 1st, so keep checking back for the latest information.
