Fulham stopped their 73-year club performance in the Premier League duel against Brighton

Carlos Baleba’s equalizer at Craven Cottage saw Fulham equal a 73-year-old club record with their 3-1 win over Brighton.

The Cottagers secured an early 1-0 lead when Alex Iwobi pounced on a defensive howler from Seagulls goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen, who played a pass short into his own penalty area.

The Albion equalized ten minutes after half-time, with Joao Pedro controlling the ball beautifully over the roof and passing it to Baleba, who fired past Bernd Leno to make it 1-1.

With this goal, Baleba scored his third goal in all competitions for Brighton in his 50th appearance for the club.

But a Matt O’Riley own goal from an Andreas Pereira free-kick into the box and a second from Iwobi gave the west Londoners all three points.

Fulham have now conceded both goals and goals in all seven Premier League home games this season.

In their league history, they only had a longer winning streak from the start of the season in the 1950/51 season.

Fulham also equaled their club record, scoring 13 consecutive goals in the top flight so far.

This is an achievement that has remained untouched for 65 years.

Fulham also maintained their club record unbeaten streak against the Seagulls in the Premier League.

The west London club are now unbeaten in all nine Premier League games against them, with five wins and four draws.

Brighton have now edged past Norwich as they are Fulham’s most unbeaten side in the Premier League.

The Seagulls have not won any of their last ten Premier League away games against London clubs, drawing four and losing six.

The last time they experienced such a long run without a league win in the capital was between 1961 and 1967.

Fulham is the club the Seagulls have faced the most times in the Premier League without ever winning in the competition.

Before the clash, Brighton remained unbeaten after conceding their first goal of the Premier League season, with two wins and two draws after falling behind so far.

And Fulham had won just one of the last five Premier League games in which they had scored the first goal, drawing once and losing three.

But the Cottagers shook off these ominous omens and secured victory.
