Gal Gadot reveals blood clots while pregnant with fourth child

It’s no surprise that “Wonder Woman’s” Gal Gadot is a superhero mom.

The actress, who gave birth to her fourth baby girl earlier this year, first hinted that she was experiencing medical issues in an Instagram post following the birth of her baby on March 6, 2024. At the time she wrote: “My sweet girl, welcome. The pregnancy wasn’t easy, but we got through it.”

In a December 29 Instagram post, Gadot revealed the “major challenges” she faced at the time of her daughter’s birth.

“In February, during my eighth month of pregnancy, I was diagnosed with a massive blood clot in my brain,” she wrote in an Instagram caption along with a photo of her and her infant in the hospital. “I suffered from excruciating headaches that left me bedridden for weeks until I finally underwent an MRI that revealed the shocking truth.”

Gadot further shared that she was taken to the hospital for emergency surgery. “My daughter Ori was born in this moment of uncertainty and fear,” she wrote.

The actress revealed that she chose her daughter’s name intentionally because Ori means “my light.”

She wrote, referring to her husband, “Before the surgery, I told Jaron that she would be the light waiting for me at the end of this tunnel when our daughter arrived.”

Now “fully healed and full of gratitude” for the life that has been “given back” to her, Gadot urged each reader to listen to and trust their body: “Pain, discomfort, or even subtle changes often have a deeper meaning and need “Get ready for it.” Your body can be a lifesaver.”

She also wanted to raise awareness about the possibility of developing a blood clot during pregnancy.

“Although it is rare, it is a possibility, and knowing it exists is the first step in addressing it,” she wrote, adding, “If even one person feels compelled to take action on their behalf because of this story Seizing health would have been worth sharing.”
