Gators No. 3 in 2025 WCGA Preseason Poll

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida begins the upcoming season ranked No. 3 in the 2025 Women’s Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA) preseason poll.

Oklahoma tops the preseason poll, followed by reigning NCAA champion LSU and Florida. Rounding out the top five are 4th place in California and 5th place in Utah.

The Gators have been in the top 5 preseason in the country every season since 2007 (2007: 3).approx; 2008: 2nd; 2009: 3approx; 2010: 4Th; 2011: 3approx; 2012: 3rd, 2013: 3rd; 2014: 1st, 2015: 1st2016: 2nd2017: 5Th; 2018: 2nd; 2019: 3rd, 2020: 3approx; 2021: 1st; 2022: 2nd; 2023: 2nd; 2024: 2nd; 2025: 3approx).

“The Gators are looking forward to the start of the 2025 season,” said Florida Head Gymnastics Coach Jenny Rowland said. “The energy in the packed arenas really drives this team. We look forward to the challenges ahead and are committed to getting better every day as we achieve our goals this season. We can’t wait for January to arrive!”

Each of Florida’s five home games features at least one preseason top-25 opponent. The 2025 season begins Jan. 10 with a quad meet featuring No. 11 Michigan State, No. 23 Nebraska and Northern Illinois. The Stephen C. O’Connell Center is home to four top-20 duals.

  • Jan. 24 vs. No. 14 Georgia
  • Feb. 14 vs. No. 17 Auburn
  • Feb. 28 vs. No. 9 Missouri
  • March 14 vs. No. 7 Kentucky

Florida’s travel schedule includes five dates with preseason top 10 teams:

  • Jan. 17 at No. 2 LSU
  • Feb. 2: West Virginia tri-meet with No. 5 Utah
  • February 7, No. 8 Arkansas
  • February 21st at No. 1Oklahoma
  • March 7 at No. 6 Alabama

Gators Hype Night will take place on Monday, December 16th

Fans can get their first look at the 2025 Gators’ routines next Monday at the team’s annual Hype Night.

The Gators perform full or partial drills on each apparatus, which are scored by guest judges.

The Gators have sold out 19 of their last 22 regular season meetings. Florida has set its single-season attendance record in five of the past seven seasons, with the current record of 9,351 per meet set in 2023.
