General Hospital Issues Viewer Warning for Upcoming Episodes Amid California Wildfires

General Hospital warns viewers about upcoming episodes as a wildfire spreads in the Los Angeles area.

“Our condolences go out to everyone affected by the fires currently raging in Los Angeles County,” the show’s official account said via social media on Wednesday, January 8. “In light of current events, today’s episode of General Hospital (and several to follow) may prove too difficult for some.”

A wind storm sparked bushfires on the morning of Tuesday, January 7, prompting the evacuation of local areas. Several celebrities were affected by the wildfires, and other stars expressed their support for the Los Angeles community.

“Please consider this before you tune in,” the General Hospital message concludes. “Thank you for your understanding.”

The warning applies to the latest version General Hospital Plot about Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) was set on fire by an explosion and screamed in pain. Two months before the scene was broadcast, 37-year-old Duell announced his decision to leave General Hospital after more than 14 years.

“This wasn’t an easy decision for me, but it feels like the right time in my life,” he wrote via Instagram in November 2024. “I’m beyond grateful to (executive producer) Frank Valentini, the cast, the crew. and everyone behind the scenes who has supported me like family throughout this amazing journey.”

Duell wrote at the time that this was “not a farewell, but a see you later.” The following month, he opened up about his decision to leave the series.

“It’s a change in life,” he said on an episode of the “Daily Drama” podcast in December 2024. “A lot has happened in my life. There are a few things behind it, but one thing I said is that my father died and I’m still dealing with it.”

Duell shared that he wanted to spend more time with his partner Luana Lucci and their 16-month-old son, Dawson.

“I’m preparing for the next chapters,” he continued. “Right now I’m just trying to grow in a way where I might feel like I’m suffocating myself in certain aspects and sometimes you have to take drastic steps or feel uncomfortable and I haven’t had that in a long time did. ”

Reflecting on his run on the series, Duell said he felt “a very strong comfort in it for so long that my identity was fused into it.”

“It’s going to be a process, but kind of untangling that and really seeing who I am and where I am in my life now,” he said. “It will be a little journey. I don’t know what the future holds, but I still have a lot of work to do to reach the potential I know I have. Not just professionally, but in many ways.”
