We said last week that Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver George Pickens isn’t talented enough to be such a red flag in games. How much on-field nonsense the Steelers can tolerate has to be balanced by production, and those things don’t happen for Pickens.

Less than two quarters into the game against the Cincinnati Bengals, Pickens has already committed two personal fouls, one of which was a taunt. This alerted him that another personal foul of this nature would result in a dismissal. Luckily for Pickens, the officials decided it didn’t fall into the same category when he assessed an unsportsmanlike penalty for a finger-gun celebration.

Last week, Pickens refused to speak to the media after getting into an altercation at the end of the Steelers’ loss to the Cleveland Browns in the team’s final game. If the Steelers don’t find a way to win this game, Pickens will once again have to answer for his behavior and his impact on the team.
