Georgia’s non-conference opponents this year are Marshall, Austin Peay, Charlotte and Georgia Tech. The Bulldogs were originally scheduled to play UCLA in a home game, but that series was canceled last summer and replaced with the home game against Marshall.

Next year’s game against Georgia Tech will be played at Mercedes-Benz Stadium and is designated as a Georgia Tech home game. The Bulldogs defeated the Yellow Jackets 44-42 in overtime this season.

As for the SEC slate, it should be another challenging set of games. Tennessee and Texas both made the College Football Playoff this season, while Alabama and Ole Miss narrowly missed the playoffs. Auburn’s numbers have room for improvement and Georgia struggled the last time they visited Jordan-Hare Stadium in 2023, winning 27-20.

The 2025 season will be the first time Georgia plays Texas in Athens. The two teams have met twice this season, with Georgia winning both games, including a thrilling 22-19 overtime victory last weekend. Georgia and Texas could meet again in the College Football Playoff.

As for the Alabama game, it will be the first time the Crimson Tide will visit Athens since 2015. Georgia head coach Kirby Smart was still the defensive coordinator for Alabama at the time, as it was Mark Richt’s final season as head coach at Georgia. Alabama won that game 38-10.

Georgia will again have two bye weeks, with the first set taking place on September 20th and the second set on October 25th. The second bye week takes place a week before Georgia’s game against Florida. The 2025 season will be the last season the rivalry game will be played in Jacksonville, Florida until 2028 as the stadium undergoes renovations.

The SEC’s planning model has been widely criticized recently, including by Smart himself this past weekend.

Time will tell if the SEC considers adopting a nine-game conference schedule in 2026, as the Big Ten currently does. Due to the twelve-team College Football Playoff, the strength of the schedule was a common point of contention.

As for the current season, Georgia plays in the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans on January 1st. Georgia will face the winner of Notre Dame and Indiana in the quarterfinals of the College Football Playoff.
