Georgia QB Carson Beck enters NCAA transfer portal: report

Georgia quarterback Carson Beck is expected to enter the NCAA transfer portal, On3’s Pete Nakos reports.

The 23-year-old Beck previously announced that he had declared for the 2025 NFL Draft, but apparently wants to play one more college season. He threw for 3,485 yards, 28 touchdowns and 12 interceptions and completed 64.7% of his passes for the 11-3 Bulldogs.

His 2024 season ended in the SEC Championship Game when he was injured on a sack just before halftime. Beck did not play in the second half, except on the final play when he passed the game-winning touchdown to Trevor Etienne in Georgia’s 22-19 win over Texas.

Beck was eventually diagnosed with a torn ACL in his right elbow, sidelining him for the remainder of Georgia’s season, which ended with a 23-10 loss to Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl in the quarterfinals of the College Football Playoff.

Beck, a two-year starter for the Bulldogs, took over for Stetson Bennett after Georgia won back-to-back national championships. In those two seasons, Beck completed 68% of his passes for 7,426 yards and 52 touchdowns.

Because of his experience and success, Beck is expected to attract a large number of players in NIL, which certainly contributed to his decision to play his final collegiate season.
