Georgia QB Carson Beck is expected to enter the transfer portal

Georgia quarterback Carson Beck is expected to enter the transfer portal, multiple sources tell On3. The two-time national champion immediately becomes the top quarterback in the transfer portal. Beck had previously announced his plans to enter the 2025 NFL Draft, but will instead enter college football free agency.

Beck injured his right elbow SEC Championship Game and missed the second half. He was unavailable during the college football playoffs at Georgia and missed the Allstate sugar bowl. He recently had surgery to repair his arm.

The former four-star recruit was considered a possible candidate for the NFL’s first-round draft this season. He struggled at times, throwing for 28 touchdowns and 12 interceptions for 3,485 yards. He threw three interceptions in three different games.

Carson Beck is now in recovery and training mode as he prepares for the 2025 season. He is expected to be one of the highest-paid transfers in college football history. The Jacksonville native has one year of eligibility remaining and is expected to consider some quarterback-needy teams as possible targets.

The Bulldogs finished the season 11-3, winning their second SEC title since 2022. He threw for 7,912 yards and 58 touchdowns in his Georgia career.
